Vi turned seven this week. John helped her by blowing out two of the candles on her banana-honey cake.
(We successfully substituted coconut oil for butter and gluten-free all purpose flour to make it gluten-free and dairy free. If she requests banana-cake again, I’ll try to see if I can make it sugar-free as well.)
Baba, John, and Jen got the party started with some balloon fun.
Then it was time to open presents, both home-made …
… and store-bought.
When our kids turn seven, they begin a monthly allowance of one dollar for every year they are old. To commemorate this, we buy them a little bank. Nikki got a piggy, Michael a frog, and Vi requested a ducky-bank.
Vi was thrilled with the chef set I won for her on Instagram,
and with all the love and presents she received.
It is such a joy to be around her and have her in our family!
