Nikki’s first swimming lesson

Posted by: blissfule In: Perth ()

Pictured below are a few of the activities from Nikki's half-hour lesson, with a bonus shot of her (only slightly distracting) fan club.

I asked Nikki afterward if she enjoyed the lesson. "Yeah, it was really fun," she replied, "except blowing bubbles, because I didn't want to get my eyes wet."

Thanks to Jen for encouraging us to start lessons sooner rather than later!

We love you Nikki! You are growing so fast and learning so many things that Grandpa and I will need several days talking with you to catch up with it all.

Looks like she did great during her lesson – and Michael looks very curious about swimming himself!

Awesome! That’s so great she loved it! Emma Grace didn’t like blowing bubbles either. She’s better now. Her teacher encouraged her to do it in the bathtub. She also said you can take a straw and let them blow through the straw in the bathtub. Maybe it will help?

Kaden took lessons last summer and it’s amazing how much more comfortable he was in the pool after just a few lessons. He still respected the depth, but he was able to enjoy the shallows so much more that it really became a joy for him.

I’m glad she enjoyed it. Katie had similar comments — she also does not like getting her eyes wet, but with bubble blowing in the tub, she’s become much better about it. Way to go, Nikki!!!
